What would be your “dream job” in life?

My dream job without a doubt has always been to be an actress. I was very shy when I was young and I found that it was acting that really allowed me to come out of my shell and feel comfortable with myself.  Acting quickly became my biggest passion and lifelong dream. It is a job that often requires someone to be in the public eye, and gives you the tools necessary to be a role model.

Being someone who people can look up to and be inspired by has always been important to me. However, I am also very drawn to the idea of owning my own business, particularly a clothing line, or working as a public relations spokesperson for a large organization. In both cases I am working hard to achieve my goals by receiving training for acting, and working towards my degree in business with a major in management.

List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had.

My most interesting job was actually the first volunteer position I’ve had. I was a volunteer camp leader for children’s summer camps. This was the first time I was able to really experience what it was like to be a true role model for children. I discovered how much I enjoy being a person they can look up to, and look to for advice.

I quickly learned that it’s so important for young children to have someone to turn to when they are at such a young and sensitive age when the influence of peer pressure and media can be so strong on them. I found it very uplifting to see how much of an impact a young person such as myself could have on them.

Where is the most interesting place you have been?

The most interesting place I have ever been is a small town in New Brunswick called Bath.  A lot of my family lives there so I have traveled there frequently over the years. The population is very small, around 500 people. This town is full of kind hearted people and is rich in history; every time I go I seem to learn something new and interesting about it. It’s a truly beautiful place to visit with all of its beautiful forests, and wildlife.

I think it’s important that people recognize that it’s not necessary to travel around the world to find a beautiful and interesting place, there are many of them hidden right here in Canada!

What is your philosophy of/in life?

“Do not lose hold of your dreams or aspirations. For if you do, you may still exist but you have ceased to live”— Henry David Thoreau. I truly believe that one of life’s biggest hardships is to live one’s life without having ever truly experienced what life has to offer.  It is in making mistakes, experiencing new things, and confronting our biggest fears that we are able to learn, grow, and make our wildest dreams a reality. I try to apply these life guidelines to everything I do and every decision I make so that I will never have to go through life regretting a missed opportunity or allowing fear to hold me back. I feel that every door that opens for us is a blessing in itself, and when we chose to walk through that door we can accomplish great things. Live every day to the fullest, don’t be afraid to try no things, and never under any circumstances give up on your dreams!
