What would be your “dream job” in life?

My dream job in life would be to become an entrepreneur and create my own company that would encourage teens and young adults to be active, travel and live new experiences. I truly believe that travelling makes us discover who we are, pushes us try new things and make us learn about new cultures.

So many young teens are passionate about a particular sport such as; surfing, snowboarding, biking and sailing for example. Those who have never had the opportunity to participate before may have dreamt of trying and wanting to feel the experience first-hand.

I was fortunate enough to have parents who encouraged me to travel and try new things, however, many young teens cannot imagine the possibility to surf in Hawaii, snowboard in the Alps, sail in the islands or even bike across Canada.  I am a very enthusiastic and adventurous young woman. To be able to help and encourage passionate teens and young adults to pursue and organize their dream experience would be rewarding beyond belief, and I would love every minute of my job.

I worked for three years at a clothing boutique in my hometown. It was truly an amazing job! I am an avid appreciator of fashion arts. I used to love opening new boxes of clothing for the upcoming collections. To witness the creativity of the designers who worked on each piece of clothing in the hopes of making something that another individual would love to wear, allowed me to feel connected, as though admiring inside an art gallery.

We were always excited to see what concepts the new collections sprung up which then gave us the pleasure of helping customers to find the right fit for their personal style, or assist them for special events and occasions. Finally, it is important to reveal the fact that my co-owner bosses were an inspirational duo who demonstrated zeal and desire for their chosen career paths.

This inspired me to want to be successful at owning my own business some day while pursuing an endeavour that I am truly passionate about.

Where is the most interesting place you have been?

Two summers ago I went backpacking with my sister across Europe. This incredible adventure turned out to be heart and eye-opening. At one time, we unexpectedly found ourselves stranded in the quaint ancient city of Tréjouls in the south of France. At which point we decided to stay for a few days to explore and camp.

Tréjouls and its neighbouring Lauzerte were magical; in the morning we would wake up surrounded by miles and miles of sunflower fields. We later ventured out for a day into the pristine mountains of Cahors for a kayaking trip on the Célé River. The combination of physical challenge and cultural experience of these historical sites was exhilarating and unique.

I find that when you spend time in a place which holds so much history and unspoiled nature, one gets to exercise their imagination and conceptualized how past generations used to live. In my opinion, this only heightens the rich experience of sensorial and cultural awareness which travelling influences.

What is your philosophy of/in life?

Live every moment, laugh every day and love beyond words. I believe that you have to make the most of all opportunities that life has to offer. Those moments are to be shared with the people you love so make sure that they always know just how much you care about them.

Have fun and enjoy life because being goal oriented is an important quality, but success is not worth anything unless you have family and friends to share it with. Sometimes life is random and difficult, the only true power we have is the attitude we adopt towards all the different challenges life brings our way.
