Marina Sevastianov

Age: 21 | Height: 5’4″
Hometown: Richmond Hill

Marina Sevastianov comes from Moldova, a small Eastern European country, and immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of six. The multiculturalism of this country has allowed her to embrace tolerance and encouraged her to experience all the opportunities that life has offered her.

She is currently in her third year at Ryerson University studying Global Management and Accounting. Concurrently, she is working on a project which she thinks is both necessary and risky but well worth the rough journey: a chain of fast food restaurants that are a healthy alternative to what is offered today.

Determined to lead a healthy and active life, when she is not with her head in the books, Marina likes to work out, dance salsa and spend time with her friends and family. In her opinion, any success is so much more enjoyable if you have loved ones around to share it with.

Marina strives to become a strong, independent woman because she is the only one who will work the hardest to see her succeed. She also believes that it is in everyone’s power to cause change whether it is their own fate or just helping others. She is a caring, energetic individual; dedicated to the people she loves.

This take on life has motivated her to become the President of V-Day at Ryerson which is the Ryerson University affiliation of the Non-profit organization V-Day based in New York City. This is a global movement to end violence against women and children. Marina has helped raise awareness and funds around Ryerson University and Toronto through the coordination of multiple events and projects. As a Miss Universe Canada Ambassador, she would be honored to continue her work in inspiring women to become stronger and believe more in themselves.
