MARIANA VALENTE - MISS UNIVERSE® CANADA 2009
Mariana was born in Brazil and moved to Canada
at the age of 12. She is currently learning her third language
as she completes her B.A Honours at York University in French
Studies. Mariana’s completed her College Education in Early
Childhood Education, and is now leading her to Teacher’s
College; her goal is to become an elementary school teacher.
One of Mariana’s dreams is to follow in
the footsteps of her grandmother, who devoted a great deal of
her life to help others. As a continuation of her late grandmother’s
work Mariana founded BASE (Brazilian Association for Social
and Educational Support) in 2006, a charity that has the objective
to help children in Brazil. Together with her family Mariana
has been able to organize annual Dinner and Dance Fundraisers
that were completed with great success.
Mariana has also experience with pageants
and modeling as she competed for the title of Miss Brazil Canada
in 2005, she won the title of Miss Latina Canada 2007, and she
represented Canada at the Miss Universe 2009 competition.
