AGE:
24 | HEIGHT: 5'9" | HOMETOWN: BRANTFORD
Raised in Brantford, Ontario, Sarah
began playing the violin at three years of age and the piano at
age five. As a teenager, Sarah toured across Ontario as a member
of various string quartets. After graduating from the University
of Toronto where she majored in Violin Performance, Sarah was
admitted into grad school at York University. She is also completing
an ARCT performance degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music
and teaches violin and piano to children.
Sarah’s other passion is her love of animals. A regular
volunteer at the Humane Society, Sarah objects to the poor treatment
of animals. Many years ago, Sarah decided to become vegan, giving
up the consumption of all animal products. While the decision
was a statement against the poor treatment of animals, it was
also consistent with her passion for healthy living and wellness.
Sarah is a fitness enthusiast who loves to stay active through
running and hot yoga.
Sarah believes that competing for the crown of Miss Universe Canada
will afford her the opportunity to share her passions with a much
larger audience. She wants to raise support for the arts so that
underprivileged children can discover the joy of playing an instrument,
just as she did many years ago. In addition, she hopes to
raise awareness to the topic of animal abuse, an issue that does
not receive enough mainstream attention.
Sarah’s other interests include learning new languages (she
is fluent in English and French, and functional in Spanish), traveling,
dancing, and reading. Those close to Sarah will describe
her as being a caring and positive person with a big heart.
Sarah is happiest when she is helping other people.
