Rhandi Burton is 21 years old and was born and raised in a small Alberta rural community called DeBolt. She currently resides in Grande Prairie Alberta and works as a banquet and dining room server.

She started taking modeling and acting courses when she was fifteen. The resources weren't available locally, so her mom and she traveled 1040 kms every weekend, for four winters, to Edmonton from DeBolt, so she could attend her classes, auditions and fashion shows. She has had the opportunity to model for L'Oreal on two occasions, as well as model at the large four day wedding show held in Vancouver & for fashion week in Edmonton for private designers. She has also modeled for two televised Boot Legger campaigns. She has participated in fashion shows held in Grande Prairie, and attended scoutings in Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto. She has travelled many miles with her dream tucked squarely in her mind.

Rhandi enjoys travelling to new, interesting places and meeting new friends. When she was younger, she was what one would consider a tom-boy, never afraid to get her hands dirty. She loves to be outdoors, quading or horseback riding. She enjoys a variety of sports, including golfing with her family, volleyball and soccer. Her perky personality and interests keep her active and on the go. Family is a very important part of Rhandi's life, and means the world to her.

During her elementary and junior high school years, Rhandi was a victim of verbal abuse from her peers. She has overcome the effects of low self-esteem and lack of confidence through her modeling and coaching from her instructors. She plans on using those past experiences to accomplish her goal of becoming the best youth counsellor the younger generation could wish for, as there is no better person to help than one that has experienced the obstacles themselves.

Rhandi's philosophy in life is "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger". She believes that if you put your heart, mind and soul into your dreams you can accomplish anything.

Being from a small rural community charity work was limited.

What would be your "dream job" in life?
My dream job is to be a youth counsellor, to be able to help the younger generation deal with problems that life brings them.

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life? Why?
Connie Deboer because she always had faith in me, she helped me get on my way with my modeling and acting. She is more like a second mom to me then a agent.

What is the proudest personal accomplishment (other than being in this or any other beauty pageant competition)

My proudest personal accomplishment that I’ve achieved is over coming my low self esteem and shyness, learning how to deal with teenage drama and bullies.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?

My carreer ambition is to become a youth counsellor. I am planning on doing upgrading so I can attend college in the fall.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.

I was raised in a small rural community. Our school was kindergarten to grade 12 with only 220 students. Our community was more like one big family, everyone looked out for everyone and helped each other in time of need. My childhood was full of sports and community activities. My elementary and junior high years were a very hard time in my life. I was a victim of verbal abuse from my peers. I was the one in school that was always getting bullied and was an outcast. That is why my goal in life is to become a youth counsellor to help the younger generation overcome the obstacles that I faced.

List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had.

I’ve done quit a few different jobs. I’ve done landscaping, wedding dress consultant, Vehicle Detailer, Beauty supplier’s assistant manager, Commercial Painter, Residential Cleaner, Retail, waitress/hostess

List any volunteering you have done.

I volunteered at the golf course, community clean up, community plays and productions, seniors centre, curling rink, and community beautification society planting and attending to landscaping around the community

Where is the most interesting place you have been?

The most interesting place I’ve been would have to be California. The scenery/ weather everything was a total change from Alberta.

What makes you unique and different from the other contestants?

Coming from a small rural community the resources for modeling/acting were very limited. I had to travel a total of 9 hours each weekend for four winters straight for acting and runway classes. I travel to Vancouver BC for any auditions, scoutings, shows or rehearsals. I’m always traveling other places to get that one step closer to my dreams

What is your philosophy of/in life?

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Life is going to throw a lot of curves your way.

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?

In 10 years I hope to have a career under my belt, be financially stable, have a family, and own a house.

I have a perky personality and love new adventures in life. I love to travel and visit new places , meet new people. I love to make people feel good about themselves and love to make people smile.
