AGE: 26 | HEIGHT: 5'10" | HOMETOWN: MONTREAL, QC

Heidi-Rose was born and raised in the rural Laurentian region of Quebec, north of Montreal. Heidi-Rose grew up with a love for the beauty of the Canadian countryside, enjoyed through her passions for horseback riding, hiking, swimming, and skiing. The eldest of two children, Heidi-Rose cherishes a tight bond with her family, and drew from this strength in deciding, after her high school graduation at age 16, to move on her own to the big city of Montreal in order to pursue her career dreams.

With a fierce determination to succeed, she proceeded to work full-time in order to support herself, and thrived in a fast-paced corporate world that taught her the value of dedication to one's goals and the possibilities that can be achieved through hard work and ambition.

While still a country girl at heart, Heidi-Rose adores the vibrancy of Montreal's city life, and, in particular, is inspired by the diversity and multiculturalism that characterizes this Canadian urban center. Fluently bilingual, Heidi-Rose herself epitomizes this hybrid quality, and cherishes the values and traditions handed down to her by her French-Canadian, Ukrainian and German heritages.

This background has also taught her the power of cross-cultural communication and exchange - a skill that she has further developed through pursuing a certificate in Public Relations from Concordia University, which she hopes to translate into a future in media and journalism. Heidi-Rose's fascination with exploring new cultures and experiences has motivated her love of travel, and she looks forward to expanding this repertoire through her participation in the Miss Universe Canada tradition.

Heidi-Rose considers herself to be a resilient and compassionate person who has experienced a number of difficult obstacles in her life and has overcome each one with a renewed strength and gratitude. She is particularly interested in serving as an advocate for issues affecting women's health, both within Canada and internationally. Having seen the devastating effects of cancer affect the lives of girls and women in her own family, she hopes to translate her experience volunteering with cancer research organizations in Montreal into future advocacy for women's cancer research.

Heidi-Rose has embarked upon the journey of participating in Miss Universe Canada as the pursuit of a personal dream, and looks forward to all of the opportunities and challenges offered by this new and exciting experience.
