What would be your "dream
job" in life?
I am lucky enough to be able to say that I am currently in full
pursuit of my dream job as a lawyer. To have the ability to be
a part of our country's history by helping make necessary changes
to our legal system would make for an immensely fulfilling career.
However that being said, my dream job is only one part of a very
specific idea for my ideal life - one in which I am able to divide
my time between a successful career, family, friends, and philanthropic
ventures.
Name one person, other
than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life?
Why?
Having been so blessed with a multitude of great people who have
influenced me throughout my LIFE; it's really difficult to choose
only one. Martin Zelina is the father of one of my oldest and
dearest friends. Mr Zelina is unique because he has always been
physically, emotionally and mentally strong, yet still funny,
kind, caring and generous. Thanks to him, I have been able to
witness a marriage based on true and sincere love. I have learned
invaluable life lessons; he has taught me the importance of being
strong regardless of the challenges one may face, and after watching
him recover after a terrible and near fatal injury, the true meaning
of resilience.
What is the proudest personal
accomplishment (other than being in this or any other beauty pageant
competition)
Growing up, I was under the impression that there were only two
careers available to me: I could either be a Doctor or a Lawyer.
Much to my Mother's disappointment, we learnt early on that the
sight of a needle made me nauseous, and drop to floor. Never one
to let down my parents, I spent years dutifully preparing myself
for a career in law. As you may assume, my proudest personal accomplishment
to date is having been accepted into law school. There have been
few moments that compare to the memory of calling my family to
share the news, acceptance letter in hand.
Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was
like.
I was born at North York General Hospital in 1984, and have spent
the last 24 years in the same neighbourhood. Born to Farhad and
Minoo Moavenian, the most loving, and self sacrificing set of
parents any child could dream of. Our lives were always so closely
tied to that of our extended families, and we always seemed to
be enjoying our time together as a large, boisterous, and fun
loving group. There's not too much to say about my childhood,
other than the fact that it was a pretty typical and a wonderfully
happy time in my life. With no brothers or sisters to fight with,
and summers spent at camp, my life was filled with school and
countless extra-curricular activities.

12 delegates
What makes you unique and
different from the other contestants?
There are a few qualities that I feel set me apart from the other
delegates. It only takes a few minutes after I meet someone to
develop a friendship that seems like it has been there for decades.
Young or old, I've always had the ability to sincerely connect
with different people on a personal level. I have a quiet determination
that is truly unstoppable, and sometimes even underestimated.
Once I have a goal in mind, whether it is to bake the perfect
cupcake or raise $5000 for a cause, you can bet that it will be
done. And finally, I believe that I could serve as a positive
role model for Canadian women, both young and old, in a time when
inspiration and guidance are so greatly needed but not always
available.
What is your philosophy
of/in life?
I believe in living life in an honest and compassionate manner,
and treating others better than you could ever hope be treated
in return. Based on Karmic theologies, a positive personal contribution
to our society will only result in a greater world. However; so
many of us forget that we are not alone in this world, and fail
to remember that outside our sight lines there are millions of
people around the world, many of which are suffering. It is my
sincere belief that compassion and a more equitable division of
our abundant resources can help us make the world a better place.
What do you hope to be
doing in 10 years?
Like so many modern women, the vision for my future includes a
career, family and active social life. In ten years, I will be
running my own legal practice where I can help concerned Ontarians
make the important and necessary changes to our legal system in
pursuit of a better and safer society. Outside of the office and
home, I hope to use my resources to spearhead a fundraising society
in honour of any and all causes concerning youth. Let's not forget
having a home right in the heart of Toronto, a family of my very
own with as many kids as my sanity will allow
and maybe
even a white picket fence.
