WHAT WOULD BE YOUR "DREAM JOB" IN LIFE?
My "Dream Job in life" would be to be an international cooking show host. I have always been passionate about food and the lack of nutritious food in developing countries. Through my show, I would like to raise awareness on issues relating to poverty. I also hope to invent nutritious food that could be made efficiently so that children in those countries are fed properly.

NAME ONE PERSON, OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO HAS HAD THE MOST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? WHY?
This is a difficult question because I never fail to learn new things from people that I meet. Everyone is unique in their own way and thus, it is hard to not recognize their positive sides of their personalities and traits.

WHAT IS THE PROUDEST PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT (OTHER THAN BEING IN THIS OR ANY OTHER BEAUTY PAGEANT COMPETITION)
My proudest accomplishment-although very small-is my early admission to Simon Fraser University. It was a meaningful experience for me because I had a difficult time integrating and adapting to my new environment when my family and I first moved to Vancouver. It took a lot of effort and countless hours to improve my grades so that they were good enough to be considered as early admission at SFU.

WHAT IS YOUR CAREER AMBITION AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING OR PLAN TO DO TO ACCOMPLISH THAT GOAL?
I thank God for giving me may talents over different areas. I find joy in cooking and I plan to utilize this passion to refine my skills in cooking. I hope to, one day, become an international cooking show host to deliver great cooking recipes that appeal to everyone from busy working professionals to orphanages in developing countries. To attain my goal, I will continue to discover innovative ideas in recipe creation and also, pursue further schooling in cooking and broadcasting.

DESCRIBE WHERE YOU WERE RAISED AND WHAT YOUR CHILDHOOD WAS LIKE?
I spent my childhood in South Korea where my parent raised me with unconditional love and nurture until I was 13 years old. I remember imitating famous actors and singers on television and upon practising perfect impersonation, I would perform in front of my whole family. During winter and summer vacations, my family would travel to different places where I learned to appreciate diversity and culture. While school was in session, I enjoyed learning many lessons such as piano, art, ballet, swimming, and skiing. I thank my parents for providing me with such opportunities.

LIST ANY INTERESTING OR UNUSUAL JOBS YOU MAY HAVE HAD.
My most interesting and unusual job was being a nanny for my cousin's baby. She was a first time mom and really needed assistance around the house and also, with the newborn. I stayed in San Francisco for two weeks. During my stay, I changed an average of five diapers per day, fed the baby morning and night, and cuddled him with care whenever he needed reassurance. Although I began this experience with the objective of helping my cousin, I soon realized how precious life is. Furthermore, the connection of mother and child is one that cannot be articulated in words. I thank my mother for the unyielding and rigorous effort in raising my brother and me.

LIST ANY VOLUNTEERING YOU HAVE DONE.
- I sang in my worship team at various churches.
- I served food and coffee for the homeless.
- I performed at the Korean Heritage Day Festival in 2003 and 2004.
- I participated at a C3 networking event.

WHERE IS THE MOST INTERESTING PLACE YOU HAVE BEEN?
The most interesting place-despite the various stunning locations I have visited-has to be Rocky Mountains. The emerald colour of the lakes, the snow on the peak of the mountains, and the tall and strong glaciers that have survived eons illustrated how truly lucky we are to live in such a beautiful country. I appreciate the untouched nature and the historical background the Rockies provide.

WHAT MAKES YOU UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER CONTESTANTS?
I am unique from other contestants because of my unique cultural background. I cherish my Korean heritage and value my adopted country, Canada. Since my family and I moved to Canada, I have been lucky to learn about multiculturalism. Exposed to such diverse cultures in Vancouver, I began to understand the importance of keeping an open-mind. I have lived by this policy of open-mindedness and inclusiveness. This allowed me to continue learning and befriend almost everyone whose paths cross with mine. Therefore, my unique experience has allowed me to become more flexible and compassionate towards everyone around me.

WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY OF/IN LIFE?
My philosophy in life is to live life a moment at a time. When such perspective is adopted, it is easier to accomplish a task wholeheartedly. I cherish every moment of my life and work hard towards my goal a step at a time.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO BE DOING IN 10 YEARS?
In 10 years, I hope to be able to reach out to the global community about world poverty and children who are not fortunate enough to eat sufficiently. I plan to create recipes that are affordable, easy to make, and nutritious for the children who are starving on a daily basis.

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF? SOMETHING UNIQUE THAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU? SOME INTERESTING THING ABOUT YOU?
I am very passionate about the issue of ex-comfort women in China, Japan, the Philippines, and South Korea. When I was first exposed to this issue, I was shocked at the inequality women continue to receive today in some parts of the world. I am an advocate of gender equality and I also support the protection of women where laws ignore such universal human rights.
