NAME ONE PERSON, OTHER
THAN YOUR PARENTS, WHO HAS HAD THE MOST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE?
WHY?
My youngest aunt has always had a huge influence on me growing
up. She is a very intellectual and independent woman, and overall
a wonderful mother and wife. She taught me many things about being
a woman growing up, from simply teaching me how to do my make
up to teaching me how to go about fearlessly aiming at and achieving
my goals. Though I don't get to see her as much as I would like
to, we are best friends to this very day.
WHAT IS THE PROUDEST PERSONAL
ACCOMPLISHMENT (OTHER THAN BEING IN THIS OR ANY OTHER BEAUTY PAGEANT
COMPETITION)
Learning English at the age of 13 with no background knowledge
or preparation is definitely a personal accomplishment I am proud
of. It was certainly a challenging task, for my family and I arrived
in Canada with minimal resources and knew very few people. However
we all delved into Canadian culture and the English language immediately,
and have come a great distance since.
WHAT IS YOUR CAREER AMBITION
AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING OR PLAN TO DO TO ACCOMPLISH THAT GOAL?
I plan on becoming a successful business owner by means of opening
and operating my own salon/spa. I believe that I have the talent
and determination necessary to achieve my goal, for it is something
I've always been passionate about. I have studied and gained experience
in the field of business management, thus I have the required
skills and tools to manage a salon. I also plan on attending Cosmetology
school in the near future, so in addition I can gain the technical
skills that will enable me to work as a stylist as well.
DESCRIBE WHERE YOU WERE RAISED AND WHAT YOUR CHILDHOOD WAS
LIKE.
I was born and raised in Ahvaz Iran until the age of 13. Life
in Iran for me was great; I enjoyed school very much and was very
close to my family/extended family and friends. My childhood was
greatly impacted by the fact that I am the oldest of 4 kids. I
was two and half years old when my brother was born, and two years
after that my second brother was born. By the time my third brother
was born I was eight years old, and by then I was already taking
on responsibilities such as helping my mother with the babies
and cleaning/chores. I was also the oldest grandchild with little
age difference between my younger aunts and uncles and myself,
so I found myself hanging out with them a lot and not acting so
much like a child. Regardless we always made an effort to have
fun, laugh, and make great memories which we all cherish to this
day. When we moved to Canada I immediately emerged into the way
of life being very intrigued by it. In no time at all I had become
fluent in English, made plenty of friends and was doing well in
school. My parents, siblings and I were always very close to each
other and have travelled to many different parts of the world
and this way we continue to learn and grow together as a family.
LIST ANY INTERESTING OR
UNUSUAL JOBS YOU MAY HAVE HAD.
Working at a daycare for well over 2 years was very interesting
to say the least, because children are so fun and spontaneous.
I had the opportunity to work with many different age groups of
children with different personalities, needs and wants, and overall
it was an incredible experience. I took a lot from the job, especially
many great friends (parents, children, co-workers, etc) who I
am still close friends with.
LIST ANY VOLUNTEERING YOU
HAVE DONE.
I volunteered for a children's football camp with former Calgary
Stampeders quarterback Anthony Mcclanahan's CampMac. It was a
fun football camp for children in elementary and junior high school.
I helped with promotion and admission and once the camp began
I was involved with entertainment and other fun things for the
kids including a magic show.
WHERE IS THE MOST INTERESTING
PLACE YOU HAVE BEEN?
I have had the privilege to travel a lot in my life and have been
to many interesting countries around the world, but the one place
that left the biggest impression on me was definitely Cuba. It
is one of the most naturally beautiful countries I have ever travelled
to, and on top of that the culture, purity, happiness of the people
was mind blowing. They make an immense effort to make you feel
welcome, and the dance, food, language, and overall atmosphere
certainly delivers. I plan on returning to Cuba one day, for it
was like nothing I had ever experienced before.
WHAT MAKES YOU UNIQUE AND
DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER CONTESTANTS?
As cliché of a response as this may seem, beauty to me
is much deeper than the exterior and looks. I have a very big
heart and I tend to wear it on my sleeve, but that is not to say
I am naïve or easy to fool. I am very open minded and respectful
to others and I expect the same in return. I am in no way intending
to imply that the other contestants are shallow just because they
are beautiful, I just feel unique for the personality type that
I have.
WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY OF/IN LIFE?
Life is too short to let it go to waste, and as hard as it may
be at times try to live everyday as if it's your last. Live with
positive thoughts and do positive deeds so you can be proud of
your actions and relationships instead of regretful. Never forget
the great things of the past and use them to help with the present
and a positive outlook on the future. Forgive and forget and share
love with all those around you, and you will certainly be happy
for you will get it in return.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO BE
DOING IN 10 YEARS?
Ideally in 10 years I hope to be married with children and the
job I love. I want to provide my children with a wonderful life
and nurture them as they go on to live a happy and healthy life.
Is there anything
you would like to tell us about yourself? Something unique that
has happened to you? Some interesting thing about you?
One of my greatest qualities is my trustworthiness and ability
to maintain strong and close relationships. I enjoy making people
laugh and exercising my sense of humour and generally just having
a good, fun and memorable time. I'm very family oriented and my
family means everything to me, without their love and support
I would not be who I am today. I believe that I am a confident
and strong willed person and with a positive attitude I can overcome
the obstacles life has to offer.
