What would be your "dream job" in life?
A Broadcast Journalist Anchor at a major news station

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life? Why?
My singing teacher of 7 years, Susan edwards. I admire the way she looks at life and I have learned so much from her as a person. she has taught me many valuable life lessons such as how to have self value and personal integrity. When I am older and settled into a career I aspire to be the type of woman that she is.

What is the proudest personal accomplishment (other than being in this or any other beauty pageant competition)

I would have to say being admitted into McGill University.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?

My career ambition has changed many times over the past year! Modeling overseas for the past year or so has really opened my eyes to different areas of the world. I started doing a lot of writing again and in September 2009 I will go back to University in a Journalism program. I would like to have my voice heard and write about world issues that matter. It is imporant for me to make a difference even if it is a small one.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.

I was raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. Although it is the captial city of Saskatchewan it is fairly small and it was a great place to grow up in. Everything was close by, I played a lot outside and rode my bike nearly everywhere! It's one of those places where everyone knows everyone :

List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had.
In montreal I worked for a promotional modeling company. I did many gigs dressed up as a vegas show girl in the montreal casino. The costume was very authentic with a huge headpiece and all!

List any volunteering you have done.
While at school at McGill University I was a part of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Every event we organised was volunteer based.

Where is the most interesting place you have been?

Kunming, China. I just visited this small town during the Chinese New Year Holiday. It was a great experience to see the "real" China. I was the only foreigner in the whole city!

What makes you unique and different from the other contestants?

I have a very strong drive and am a very adventurous person. I believe life is too short to not "seize the day"

What is your philosophy of/in life?

I could best answer this question by telling you some of the quotes I live by:

"live in the moment"
"treat others the same way you would want to be treated"
"surviving is important, but thriving is elegant"

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?

In 10 years I just hope to be working in a career that I truly enjoy and brings me fufillment.

Is there anything you would like to tell us about yourself? Something unique that has happened to you? Some interesting thing about you?
I would like to tell the story of how I got into modeling in the first place. I had always enjoyed it part time during high school but never even dreamed it could be a full time career for me or that it would take me to the places it has in the world.
In september 2007 I went to New York with my girlfriends on a road trip before the start of 3rd year university. Through complete luck and chance I met an agent in New York City who told me I could work overseas as a model. At first I didn't believe him, but when the confirmed contracts came through I felt the opportunity was so special that i had to take it. It has been one of the most enriching things to happen to my life because it's not just about modeling, it's about learning through experience. I am grateful that this happened to me because i love traveling and seeing the world.
