in life?
My dream job is my job right now. Owning my own fine
bottled water company and being the marketing director;
in order to educate consumers on the health benefits of
water and the powerful message behind water. And also
to continue to work with Global Partners in Africa and
the developing world to implement safe water infrastructure.
14,000 people die per day from contaminated water and
I want to generate awareness and funding for people with
the lack of safe, clean drinking water.
Name one person, other than your parents,
who has had the most influence on your life? Why?
Lily Noon because she is a self made successful business
woman who has a passion for making a difference and giving
back to many communities across the world. Lily is a strong,
driven and kind woman who follows her dreams and turns
her goals into realities. She has encouraged me and showed
me through her actions that nothing is impossible and
if I want to achieve my dreams in life, I need to be passionate
and hard working. Lily Noon spends her free time expanding
her mind with audio books and documentaries. Lily illustrates
the importance of being well informed and up to date on
industry knowledge. I listen to audio books twice a week,
read as much as possible and watch documentaries in my
free time. I love knowledge and expanding my mind.
What is the proudest personal accomplishment
(other than being in this or any other beauty pageant
competition)
My proudest accomplishment is starting my own company
and following through with my greater purpose in Life.
Starting my own company was hard to do with limited resources
and funding. however, i raised capital, designed my own
product, started to implement my marketing plan and started
to cater to luxury events. I am very proud of myself and
all the learning and advancement I have gone through from
starting my own company.
What is your career ambition and what
are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
My career ambition is to be a successful business
woman who is a renowned expert in the water industry.
I want to own two brands of fine water, write a book on
the beauty secrets of water, and be a speaker on the health
benefits of water. In order to achieve my goals; I am
writing my book on the weekends, marketing Delicious H2O
to exclusive events, taking toastmasters to improve my
presentation skills and being passionate about my work.
I also attend networking events and business functions
to expand my business network.
Describe where you were raised and what
your childhood was like.
Looking back on my childhood I feel very fortunate
because I have such a wonderful, loving family who were
supportive of me. I was born in Canada and moved to London
and Hong Kong with my family's careers. I had a great
childhood full of exciting activities and learning experiences.
I loved being involved in as many sports and afterschool
activities as I could fit in. I was part of girl guides,
the drama club, the field hockey team, the swimming team,
and the science club, among other sports teams already
listed. I was exposed to different cultures and I learned
from an early age to accept other people no matter what
their differences were. I greatly appreciate my childhood
because my family provided a nurturing environment full
of love and support.
List any interesting or unusual jobs
you may have had.
I was the brand ambassador for proctor and gamble's tide
with febreze laundry detergent. I traveled all across
British Columbia setting up displays in superstores and
Canadian tires. I had a large display and I asked customers
to smell towels so that they could smell the new tide
scent. I enjoyed it because I had a lot of interaction
with customers and I greatly exceeded the sales expectations.
It was an interesting experience because I had never done
anything like it before.
List any volunteering you have done.
I volunteered at the Pattaya Orphanage for three months,
teaching English and organizing activities for the children.
When I was 17 I volunteered at a soup kitchen,
helping to feed the homeless and bring a smile to their
face.
Now I'm a big sister to my friend's five
year old daughter. I take her out every Sunday to the
park, aquarium, Imax movies, water slides and to the beach.
I love mentoring her and being there for her whenever
she needs me.
Where is the most interesting place you
have been?
The most interesting place I have ever been would
be the time I went to South Africa and lived in a game
park. It was such an unique experience because we were
living in the wild among beautiful animals and learning
to live at peace with nature. From my trip I learned that
happiness comes from within, not the external world of
consumer products. I love nature and animals and it was
such an excellent time in my life.
What makes you unique and different from
the other contestants?
I am a unique contestant because I am highly driven
by my own achievements and always have a constant desire
to improve. I love reading self improvement books, leadership
and business books to improve my knowledge and improve
myself every day. My goal for each day is to learn something
new and apply it. Also I accept others the way they are
and do not judge or belittle people. I have a strong desire
to help others and I want to devote my life to helping
people who lack the resources to clean water. I have a
great passion for water and I want to spread the message
of love and abundance of others through water. I love
working with others to improve communities world wide.
What is your philosophy of/in life?
My philosophy in life is to accept other people and not
judge them in a hateful manner. I believe in the oneness
of all beings and the interconnectedness of all people,
animals and nature. To live in oneness with all other
beings.
Another philosophy I live by is an attitude
of gratitude. You have to appreciate what you have or
else you have nothing. I greatly appreciate my family,
my friends and all the people that have helped me be the
best person that I can be.
I also believe that it's essential to know
who you are and what you stand for. I am a person with
values and morals and I do not jeopardize who I am. I
am a strong lady with passion and drive to make a difference
in the world. Therefore, when people judge me or criticize
me I don't necessarily take it personally because I know
who I am.
What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?
I plan to have helped numerous communities across
the world get access to safe, clean drinking water through
building dams, pipelines and clean storage tanks. I want
to be recognized as a leader in the water industry and
known for the fine waters that I have brought to the market.
I want to be known as a smart lady who has made a difference
and who has a passion to live life to the fullest.
Is there anything you would like to tell us about yourself?
Something unique that has happened to you? Some interesting
thing about you?
I am a happy person from the inside out and I truly believe
that beauty comes from within. I meditate, write in my
journal and spend time alone to improve myself every day.
I live each day seeing the glass half full and I love
sharing that positive energy with others.
I love natural health; it's a deep passion of mine. I
study the best herbs, teas, foods and grasses/Alges to
consume on a regular basis. I love being healthy and full
of life.
