What would be your "dream job"
in life?
After winning both Miss Universe Canada, and Miss
Universe, I would love to be a TV anchor/host; anything
the broadcasting field.
Name one person, other than your parents,
who has had the most influence on your life? Why?
Jim Nelson
Jim is a member of my church in Oyen. He took interest
in my life like a parent. He continually encouraged me
while growing up and into adulthood, supporting me with
worthy advice and prayer. Jim was a strong role MODEL,
living a solid, God fulfilling life.
What is the proudest personal accomplishment
(other than being in this or any other beauty pageant
competition)
When I was a hairstylist I competed in the ABA hair
show. I received 2nd in the New Talent category out of
30 contestants. That is my personal proudest moment because
I trained for months, and my creations were to the best
of my ability. It was truly an amazing experience.
What is your career ambition and what
are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
My career ambitions are to become a professional Chemical
Engineer. At the present time I am taking courses that
will allow me to get into this program in the coming year.
Describe where you were raised and what
your childhood was like.
I was raised in a small town, Oyen Alberta. My father
is a farmer, and my mother is a teacher. When I think
about my childhood I remember always having a good time
and being surrounded by family. I am the youngest of three
children. My parents have had 30 years of marital bliss
and poured endless love out to all three of us. My family
has always been strongly involved in our community; playing
our instruments for the elderly, volunteering, playing
sports, and active in our church. Holidays were spent
with relatives. My siblings and cousins are my closest
friends.
We led vacation Bible School, created family
videos and laid for countless ours on the front lawn watching
meteor showers. Family vacations usually included the
congregation of 3 other families and skiing, camping,
hiking, and canoeing. Always the youngest out of the bunch
I strived to be like them and fought to keep up.

Where is the most interesting place you
have been?
Brazil. I am sure it was not only the Country, but
also the experience.
In 2003 I spent the summer in Brazil building bio sand
water filters. I then delivered them to impoverished villages
along the Xingu River (tributary to the Amazon River).
The village people had never had clean water prior to
our arrival. I lived on the river in a boat, sleeping
in hammocks. It was by far the most life changing and
beautiful place I have ever been to.
What makes you unique and different from
the other contestants?
What makes me different/unique from the other contestants
is that I have had a solid upbringing, which has instilled
strong morals and values in my life. I am goal oriented
and organized. I have compassion for all types of people
and can adapt easily to any situation. Overall I am someone
who is down to earth and "real". People find
me approachable and easy to relate to. I am a great role
model for today's youth.
What is your philosophy of/in life?
You can do anything you put your mind to.
And
If you first do not succeed, try, try again.
What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?
I see myself in the next 10 years healthy, successful,
and happy. I will have a solid Engineering Career.
I will have already traveled to Europe, China, Japan,
and Thailand. I will find the man of my dreams, get married,
and have some children.
