Mona has worked hard to achieve her goals and dreams. The question of Human Rights has been an essential part of her life; she believes respect is the key to tolerance and human solidarity amongst people of all origins, religions, races and sexes. Sociable and friendly, Mona is always interested in learning about other cultures, morals and traditions. Her desire to help alleviate suffering has translated into regular financial and moral support in the search for a cure for cancer, specifically at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal.

Always striving for peace and freedom in the world, Mona firmly believes that all humans are equal and must live in liberty, free of fear of being abused, persecuted or arrested due to their personal, social or political beliefs. She often reiterates that any law or government policy that impedes one's freedom should not be tolerated, and that we as citizens of the free world, must work hard to help the victims of oppression.

Mona is a truly beautiful person, both inside and out. Her aspiration is to one day defend human rights throughout the world, and increase awareness. She wishes to speak out and make people mindful of the importance of freedom, equality and peace for the entire human race. Mona is convinced that working in the United-Nations Organization, once her studies are complete, will assist her in achieving her lifelong goal.

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life? Why?
My cousin, because he is a strong and intelligent person. I always admire him because of his patience and his good understanding. He supports me in most important part of my life. I learned from him how to deal with obstacles and how to be strong.

What is the proudest personal accomplishment (other than being in this or any other beauty pageant competition)?
Being nominated in Math competition at age of nine.
Writing an essay regarding Death Penalty.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
My career ambition is to obtain my PHD in Ophthalmology (eye doctor). I will use all my effort to accomplish this goal.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I was born in Iran and came to Canada at age of 13. I had a pure, lovely and calm childhood. I have been very closed to my family and friends and enjoying to do activities with them. My family loves me very much and I have never been harmed by anybody. I really love going to school and learning new subjects. I was a sociable and helpful child. My favourite amusement was going to the backyard and watching the stars in the sky. Now my childhood is turned to a nice memory and I enjoy when I remind it.

List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had.
One time, I had to write an essay, which was about selection in USA. In this regard, I had an interview with different people in different places. The question was who would be the best president: Gorge W. Bush or John Kerry. This interview was very interesting for me because people's beliefs were really different from each other. Every single person has a special understanding about selection. This job was in one way interesting and in another way unusual for me.

Working at Jewish General Hospital.
Collecting goods during New Year times for poor people.
Giving blood to the blood collection center for those who need blood.

What is your philosophy of/in life?
Every single day is a new, good and beautiful day. We must improve ourselves, correct our errors and be optimist about future.

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?
Have my PHD in Ophthalmology and doing my job in this profession.
Obtaining my bachelor degree in Astronomy at Montreal University.
Supporting some handicap children.
Supporting some African children.

Is there anything you would like to tell us about yourself? Something unique that has happened to you? Some interesting thing about you?
As far as the question of Human Rights has been an essential part of my life and unfortunately this matter has not been respected in my country, I was suffering of this inefficiency. In this regard, I started to study and research about Human Rights. Later on, I decided to write an essay about refusing Death Penalty. In this essay, I explained different reasons to refuse Death Penalty. My teacher appreciated me and all other who read my essay and the director of Iranian newspaper is arranging to publish this essay in his newspaper. This essay made me to be proud of myself.
