What would be your "dream job"
in life? To be the next Donald Trump - the Vancouver
edition of him!
Name one person, other than your parents,
who has had the most influence on your life? why?
Russell Chang. He has been my mentor, my friend and my
boss for the last 4 years. Russell inspires by example
and has not only supported my professional growth, but
also made me a stronger, better human being.
What is the personal accomplishment (other
than being in this or any other beauty pageant competition)
The quality of my relationships with my family and my
friends. Although this may not seem like the most specific
example, I work hard everyday to make sure I am a daughter
they can be proud of, a sister they can lean on and a
friend that's like family.
What is your career ambition and what
are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
My career ambition is to be the Regional Director for
Altig International. In order to achieve this goal, I
plan on maintaining my current ranking as the top hiring
manager out of 78 offices in North America. I am also
enrolled in the Career Development Training offered by
Altig and I personally schedule regular meetings with
my senior managers to discuss my progress.
Describe where you were raised and what
your childhood was like.
I was raised in Vancouver, BC. My childhood is something
I look back on with great affection. I was a spunky, happy
kid with lots of friends who always had a "mischievous
grin" as my Dad likes to put it. My memories of my
childhood include endless days spent playing in the park,
riding my bike and eating ice-cream....something I still
love to do - although a little less often now!
List any interesting or unusual jobs
you may have had.
I once worked at a shop in Vancouver called "The
Zoo". We sold every kind of stuffed animal you can
imagine. The interesting and unusual part of this job
is that as an employee, we were required to learn everything
we possibly could about all of the various animals as
if they were real - including their eating, sleeping,
and mating habits! I became an encyclopaedia of zoological
knowledge!
List any volunteering you have done.
Sikh Temple Election Volunteer
Blood Donor Clinic Volunteer
Terry Fox Run Volunteer
Grad Committee Volunteer/Fundraiser
Where is the most interesting place you
have been?
The most interesting place I have been is the Golden Temple
in Amritsar, India. This place is so rich with history;
you can almost breathe it in the air when you are there.
I find it awe-inspiring that the Golden Temple has experienced
such violent, chaotic struggles and still remains one
of the most peaceful and beautiful places in the world.
There is a sense of calm there now, a stillness that takes
over and makes you realize how small you really are in
the big scheme of things.
What makes you unique and different from
the other contestants?
My energy and vivaciousness. I'm known as the "Energizer
Bunny" among my friends and family. I bring a sense
of liveliness and sparkle to any environment I happen
to be in. I'm naturally a joyful, spirited person and
I choose to live and act enthusiastically.
What is your philosophy of/in life?
I will have to quote Monty Python on this one. "Always
look on the bright side of life!"
What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?
In ten years, when it's 2018, I'll be hoping to be the
epitome of the "modern woman". I want to be
a wife and a mother - but also someone who never lost
her sense of self. I want to be in a position that allows
me to pursue my career, volunteer more time for my charity's
and still bake cupcakes for my kids' bake sales! I picture
a busy but rewarding life filled with love - actually,
kind of similar to what I have now. But with a bigger
office, of course!
Is there anything you would like to tell
us about yourself?
Something unique that has happened to you? Some interesting
thing about you? Although this may not seem like the most
interesting thing to mention - I find that even though
my world and life is busy and constantly changing, I nurture
and comfort in my "constants". I still have
the same two girlfriends I've had since I was 5 years
old, I still eat Frosted Flakes for breakfast, and I still
watch Saved by the Bell when I need a laugh
