Shelly was born in Burlington,
Ontario however; she has lived in Niagara Falls her entire
life. Her dream job is to become a teacher, as children
are her inspiration. Shelly looks forward to this career,
as a classroom of students will teach her more than she
could ever hope to give in return.
She graduated from Westlane Secondary school in 2002 where
she received the Excellence in Education award for overall
achievement as well as the Principles Cup. Currently she
is attending Brock University where she is working to complete
a double major in Sociology and Women Studies. Shelly will
graduate in the year 2008. Her hobbies include, politics,
reading and spending time with my friends and family.
Shelly partakes in many extra curricular activities throughout
her city including Miss Niagara 2006. This title has enabled
her to support the following charities; March of Dimes,
ALS, Stair Climb for Cancer, Walk Against Male Violence,
the United Way, Terry Fox Run and the Big Brother’s/Big
Sister’s Association. The only thing that is certain
about her life is that no matter what path she takes, volunteering
will continue to be a huge part of who she is. Shelly realize
that her life and the opportunity she has been given is
a privilege and she will do whatever it takes to return
this favor to the less fortunate.
Shelly’s life philosophy is that true success is happiness
so do whatever it takes to make sure you are always smiling.
Lastly, if she had to use one quote to describe herself
it would be “It is nice to be important but it is
more important to be nice.
