AGE: 22 | HEIGHT: 5'7" | HOMETOWN: VANCOUVER, BC

Serene Aandahl, born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, has a great love of travel and has visited over thirty countries in the world.  Serene believes the best education is to experience other cultures. Recently she traveled to Tanzania to climb Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro.  During the six day climb Serene learned the power of a positive attitude and perseverance and made it successfully to the summit.  She hopes to return someday to Africa as a Canadian Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations.

Serene graduated with honors from Santa Clara University and excelled in the study of ancient Greek theatre.  Her career ambition is to start a theatre company that specializes in modern adaptations of ancient Greek plays.  Serene would love to continue to direct and act in plays because doing so has taught her creativity and confidence.  In the future she hopes to earn a master’s degree in Theatre Arts.

Serene loves to spend time with her family and cook – two things that happily go hand in hand.  She spends her free time skiing, reading plays, and spinning.

Serene’s favorite charity is the Terry Fox Foundation because it is based on the principle that every Canadian can make a difference and also encourages physical fitness through its annual charity runs.

If Serene were Miss Universe Canada 2007 she would be excited to travel Canada speaking to children about the value of education and encouraging them to participate in a breadth of extracurricular activities.  Also, she would be honored to represent Canada at the Miss Universe Pageant and work to bring home the title for her country.
