Laura is originally from Mexico and moved to Canada 7 years ago. She is a graduate from the Marketing Management program at George Brown College and the Broadcasting Program at the National Institute of Broadcasting. She is fluent in Spanish and English.

She has worked for different projects in the fashion and the Broadcasting industry like TV commercial, music videos and participated in some TV Latin shows.

She is a very passionate, active and sincere person who thinks that life’s triumphs are the result of hard work and effort. Last year, she had the opportunity to participate in the Miss Hispanidad pageant and resulted elected to represent the Hispanic community in Ontario.

Laura is very athletic and likes to occupy her spare time salsa dancing, working out, writing and meditating. She also likes to travel, to meet people and see new places.  She loves fashion and has a strong personal style.

Her goal is to become a TV host for a talk show, MTV or fashion television. For next year she is planning to study journalism at Ryerson University.

If Laura becomes Miss Universe Canada she would like to use the opportunity to promote women’s rights and speak out on issues facing our society.

Laura feels proud to be part of the Miss Universe Canada and she wishes each of the contestants continued success.
