Born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Justine Stewart is a graduate of St. Margaret’s International Girls School, and is currently studying Public Relations in her third year at The University of Victoria. In addition to her educational pursuits, Justine is an established professional Canadian Country Music recording artist and songwriter. (www.justine.ca) Justine records in Nashville and has performed in concert with some of Country Music’s superstars, including Brooks and Dunn, Charlie Daniels, Tanya Tucker, Paul Brandt, and more.
Crisscrossing the country, Justine has played Canada’s top fairs, festivals, rodeos, and The Calgary Stampede. Most recently Justine was invited by The Chinese Ministry of Health and UNICEF to perform in Beijing, China, for CCTV’s World’s AIDS Day television special, where she sang in support of children who have been orphaned by AIDS or born with HIV. As a singer and songwriter Justine is motivated by the impact that music has, not only to entertain, but to educate and to generate funds that benefit others in desperate need. Justine regularly devotes her time and talents to a variety of charities, in particular those that assist the needs of children and women.
In 2007, Justine will be featured in a
new television documentary about the history of the music
industry in Canada, called “Save Your Dreams,”
for which she has already recorded the title track for the
program.
In her own words, “Developing as a singer and songwriter is a very rewarding, but humbling experience. It’s multifaceted and there’s so much to learn. I love creating new music, live performance, recording, and the business of music. I view it all as a privilege and I’m inspired each day to meet the challenges involved in the work.” Justine is preparing to become an international recording artist and music publisher, and looks forward to the future and the launch of her new music worldwide.
Whether on the road performing or at home
with her family and friends on Vancouver Island, Justine
maintains an active and healthy lifestyle. She loves boating
and swimming in the summer, skiing in winter, and is an
avid cyclist and runner year round. With a true passion
for diverse and multicultural travel, Justine looks forward
to the future and performing her music around the world,
intent on continuing her support of children born with HIV
or orphaned as a result of AIDS.
