22-years old, Jessica
was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. She is a first generation
Canadian of Russo-Ukrainian and Filipino heritage. Jessica’s
first language is English, but she also speaks Russian and
basic French. Jessica has attended university in Montreal,
where she excelled as a student-athlete, as well as in the
United States and Russia. She recently returned to Montreal
to begin a Ph.D. in Political Science at McGill University.
Despite her travels, Jessica has maintained her connection
to Vancouver and firmly believes that home is where the
heart is.
Jessica began participating in local charitable fashion shows at the age of 15. She soon appeared in two local newspapers, the Vancouver Sun and the Province, as well as other Canadian magazines. In 2001, Jessica teamed up with Ford Models and L’Oreal to participate in ”Supermodels,” a behind-the-scenes reality television series. Jessica reached the fifth of eight episodes as one of the show’s youngest contestants. With her past experience in the fashion industry and television, and with the life lessons she has learned along the way, Jessica is delighted to be participating in the 2007 Miss Universe Canada pageant.
If crowned as Miss Universe Canada 2007, Jessica would be an advocate for the United Nations’ fundamental human right to education. Jessica hopes that through the Miss Universe Canada 2007 title, she will give a voice to those denied the opportunity to learn.
Jessica’s constant source of inspiration
is that belief that we should never stop learning, living
and loving. With this philosophy in mind, Jessica embraces
the world and all the experiences it has to offer, including
the opportunity to participate in the Miss Universe
Canada 2007 pageant.
