AGE: 26 | HEIGHT: 5'10" | HOMETOWN: WINNIPEG, MB

Jane Gingera was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The granddaughter of film pioneer Ken Davey, Jane has always had a passion for performing arts. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and musical theatre for over 15 years. She was also a member of the world renowned Assiniboine South Youth Choir (highlighted by a performance at New York’s Carnegie Hall). After being scouted at a model search at age 13, Jane added modeling to her roster of activities. She has modeled internationally in Africa, Mexico, Hawaii, and Cuba and all over North America.

Not letting her travels get in the way of her education, Jane graduated high school with honors and moved on to the University of Manitoba Theatre program. There she developed a deep love for acting and the stage. After winning a national talent search, she packed up and moved to Vancouver to pursue an acting career. Since then she has appeared in many commercials, television shows and films such as "Enron: The Crooked E, Scalpers", "The Coreys: Return of the Lost Boys", and "Karma Inc". She has also taken her dance training to the big screen as a feature dancer on Fantastic Four II, Chaos Theory and The L Word.

Jane’s other love is animals! Her home has always been full of interesting animals, including the 1994 Canadian Champion racing turtle! Her family has always been active with the Manitoba Wildlife society, rescuing and caring for injured animals. Jane continues to lobby for the protection of Canada’s endangered species and wildlife.

Jane currently works in Vancouver as a model, actor and event coordinator, working on many of Vancouver’s top events. As the reigning Miss Universe Vancouver 2006, she donates her time to charitable events and fashion shows, and promotes the Miss Universe pageant to the best of her ability. If she is blessed with the opportunity to become Miss Universe Canada 2007, Jane will continue to act as a positive role model for the women of Canada, and will continue her work with the National Wildlife Society and the BC SPCA.

In her spare time, Jane loves yoga, knitting, reading and bargain shopping! She prides herself on being a “true prairie girl” from “friendly Manitoba”! She is very down to earth and treasures her family and friends as true gifts from God. Her motto in life is to always “Live, Love and Laugh!”. Jane would like to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thanks to all her sponsors, family and friends for their generosity, love and support. Jane would also like to wish all the other Miss Universe Canada 2007 delegates good luck and blessings in the pageant! She looks forward to an exciting experience with memories to last a lifetime!
