Born in St Thomas, Jamaica, Delaine immigrated to Canada at age 13. Since childhood, she has enjoyed singing, dancing and reading.  Her other hobbies include writing, ice-skating and “hanging out”.

Delaine is a passionate young woman; filled with love for others and appreciation for life. Many describe her as a calm and confident person who loves to laugh.

Before moving to BC, Delaine was involved in many community activities. One of her favourite activities was being an assistant choir director to the Toronto City Mission children’s choir. While living in Victoria, she was a member of a salsa rueda dance team and a singing coach to 4 young girls. She recently moved back to Ontario, but will return to the breath-taking island of Victoria after her planned travels.

Delaine credits who she is to her Faith, her mother and her very humble beginnings. If asked whether there is any thing she would change about her life, she will readily say “no!”, because all her experiences made her who she is today; and she loves that person.

Regarding the Miss Universe Canada 2007 pageant, she states, “I am ecstatic about being chosen as a delegate for the pageant, and am looking forward to meeting the other privileged young women.
