What is the craziest thing you have ever
done?
I was on a date once at the movies and after half
an hour I had told him that I was going to get sour
candies. I left and I didn’t come back!
What charities have you supported with your
time and/or resources over the past two years?
I was actively involved in UBC’s Alternative
and Integrative Medical Society, which is a non-profit
society that organizes conferences on allopathic medicine
and preventative health care measures. She also volunteered
at UBC’s psychiatric ward gaining first hand
experience in insight and care of patients with problems
of abusing both legal and illegal drugs. The B.C.
Children’s Hospital Star Light Star Bright Foundation
also provided her with experience in working with
children with special needs.
What would be your “dream job”
in life?
I want to be part of a non-profit organization bringing
pharmaceutical aid to developing countries. Simultaneously,
I’d also want to promote awareness to the importance
of preventative healthcare, so less people may become
dependent on prescription drugs. This may seem contradictory,
but in this day and age, a large local populous is
dependent on unnecessary drugs, which would better
be distributed to places where they are desperately
needed but not available.
Name one personal accomplishment (in addition
to being a Miss Universe Canada contestant) that makes
you especially proud.
Over the past 6 years, I have been able to work in
a variety of jobs, and became able to balance my strong
drive in academics, with the creativity and _expression
I had found in my modeling and acting career. Not
only does this give me a deeper understanding of the
world around us at a molecular level, but it also
gives it meaning and beauty.
What is the most important thing you want
people to know about you?
My personality. Although I can come across as having
a calm demeanor, I am an explosive character with
big ideas and a never-ending ambition.
What are your favorite movie, song, sport,
and food?
Movie: Hotel Rwanda
Song: For Real By Amel Larrieux
Sport: Figure Skating because it is graceful and solitaire
F ood : Miso soup
What would you like to accomplish if you
win the Miss Universe Canada title?
Winning the title opens the door to publicity, which
helps me achieve my goals in making a difference using
fame to generate awareness. I’d feel privileged
to represent Canada’s culture and it’s
diversity, and will use this power to help resolve
issues facing our country and overseas.
A motto that has served you as inspiration.
The mediocre teacher tells; the good teacher explains;
the superior teacher demonstrates; the great teacher
inspires.
