About Pricilla: Raised in the Okanagan in the small town of Winfield, BC (with her family originally from the Fiji Islands), Pricilla describes herself as a free-spirited, adventurous, spontaneous, (and sometimes shy!) girly tomboy and perfectionist who aspires to be in the entertainment industry and make her mark in the world by being influential and successful. She firmly believes everything and anything is possible if you stay focused, work hard and really set your mind to it. She loves travelling, learning about different cultures and countries, tropical places, reading, all sports (especially soccer), music, playing piano, photography, being around children, writing songs and poetry, art, fashion and anything creative!

Interests: Future plans include studying more in music, acting, psychology, business and marketing and perhaps health and political science. Although, she admits because of her vast interests, she ideally would love to have about 20 different careers going at once! However, her passionate and determined nature continues to allow her to pursue her goals to professionally perform through singing, acting, dance and modeling. From her past, she believes her faith in God and life has strengthened her character and allowed her to endure past, present and any future obstacles that stand in her way. Being her first pageant, she says she is proud to be among such intelligent women who are also, talented, confident, and ambitious and has made her think of pageants in a different light and with a new respect. She says to follow your heart, your raw emotion and to live in the moment for all your life, in your career and with those you love because that is the only way to truly live life.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

ALMOST accepting a cruise-ship job (out of the blue, with only a few days notice), without anyone knowing and potentially leaving my entire life that I know (friends, family, a good job, sports, my hometown) behind, for about a year… without a doubt in my mind! (Now that I think about it… I don’t think it was THAT crazy).

What charity/ Charities have you supported with your time and/or resources over past two years?

Events/activities involving the Kelowna Rec. Services
Big Brothers and Big Sisters
Local Tsunami Relief efforts

What would be your “dream job” in life?

To be in the entertainment industry doing a variety of things while still being able to be influential, highly respected and an ambassador to our nation and a voice for social and world issues.

Name one personal accomplishment (in addition to being a Miss Universe Canada contestant) that makes you especially proud.

Singing in public for the first time in my life. Being something I want to pursue as a career, not only was it incredibly fulfilling, but also was quite a personal achievement for me because I have constantly struggled with my extreme shyness, confidence issues and belief and worth in myself. (Singing is also something very private and emotional for me, but I am learning to channel that energy into a stronger voice).

What is the most important thing you want people to know about you?

That I am a genuine, honest, straight forward and relatable individual who completely believes in being true to myself. You should never compromise your morals, beliefs, hopes and dreams for anyone or anything and should love and accept yourself and others. Also that, at the end of the day, the most important thing is being happy, loving yourself, and really, truly appreciating all that you have.

What are your favorite movie, song, sport, and food?

2 of my favorite movies are SELENA and RUSH HOUR

Songs: Wild Horses by Natasha Bedingfield and La Tortura by Shakira

Sport: Soccer, basketball, hockey and volleyball

Food: Anything that my mother makes (she is amazing)

What would you like to accomplish if you win the Miss Universe Canada Title?

Being able to have the opportunity to be an ambassador/spokes model for Canada and having the privilege of working through Canada, while meeting new people and being a public role model are inevitable accomplishments if I win the title. Also, for the experience, self growth and career opportunities that could come out of it would be accomplishment enough.

A motto that has served you as inspiration.

Everything always happens for a reason and always for the better.
