About Christine:
Christine was born in Kamloops, BC where she attended school, committed herself to a 5 day a week ballet routine and became the youngest member of Habitat for Humanity in her hometown. She and her family moved to Vancouver where she graduated as an honor student and explored a part-time modeling career. She is presently completing her first year at N.A.I.T. in biology and would like to follow into the field of law in the direction of family litigation.

Interests: Her family and roommates are her favorite hobby and she loves spending time by anything from hiking to spunky salsa dancing. She is ambitious and strives to open all opportunities which have leaded her to the Miss Universe Canada pageant. With her full appreciation of being able to compete in such a pageant, she has looked forward to making new friends, learning some cute makeup tips and enjoying this once in a lifetime experience.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

I went bungee jumping for my very first time last summer, and I am terrified of heights.

What charity/charities have you supported with your time and/or resources over past two years?

I was the youngest volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in Kamloops for several years, and have also attended several volunteer functions for the Canadian Cancer foundation. Last year I spent some time volunteering runway work to ‘Dress for Success’ and I am presently volunteering part of my time to the Canadian Parapeligics association of Alberta.

What would be your "dream job" in life?

I have hopes of one day in the future becoming a litigator and working in the field of family law.

Name one personal accomplishment (in addition to being a Miss Universe Canada contestant) that makes you especially proud.

In junior high I was striving for a scholarship in Leadership. To achieve this scholarship you had to complete over 600 hours of leadership work, I not only completed 600 hours, I actually completed nearly 1200 and recieved several awards and became a leadership T.A (teacher's assistant).

What is the most important thing you want people to know about you?

At the young age of 19 I would never have estimated the amount of mistakes I would make or the regular failure I would find throughout my life, But without these failures I would never have found or truly appreciated success, Every single person falls down, but the most important thing to understand is how to stand up and face consequneces, continue on and accept the directions life encourages you into.

What is your favorite movie, song, sport, and food?

My favourite movie is Pay it Forward, because the message it portrays is relevant to everyone and important to understand.

My favorite song is “Take me as I am, by Marie J Blige”, and My favorite food is “Earls”- sweet chili chicken.

What would you like to accomplish if you win the Miss Universe Canada title?

I would like to demonstrate what Miss Universe Canada truly means to me. To not only demonstrate that Miss Universe Canada is not a beauty pageant, but an oppurtunity for Canadians to portray pride in their heritage and country and a chance for young women to reach out and make a difference in world issues and day to day situations that need to be addressed. I would like to exhibit the positive qualitys that I feel most Canadians share and display; the enthusiasm, drive and ethics that encouraged me to compete for Miss Universe Canada.

A motto that has served you as inspiration.

“ One day as we lie in our death beds, we will all likely look back on our lives and regret the things we never had the chance to do, not the things we did do.” It is important for people to face every challenge they meet, and always look forward, learn from your mistakes, but never regret choices you have made, because each mistake is a chance to learn and grow, “Each time one door is closed in our lives, another one is blown open”.
