What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

I would have to say the craziest thing that I have ever done would be in my friend’s words: “Traveling down the slope of the Malahat, while it is pouring rain on my bike that is fit with its train tires in the middle of winter at 80km/hour!! Only someone as crazy as you would think this to be fun. (Oh yes and the other cyclists out there too, my apologies!!)

What charity/charities have you supported with your time and/or resources over the past two years?

Over the past two years I have been active with volunteering my time to the PacificSport Youth Development Programs in schools, as well as the After High-School Program that is offered every year to all grade 11 and 12 students in the Greater Victoria area. The PacificSport Youth Development Program is run at elementary and junior high-schools and it creates the building foundation and values of how sport can become a part of every youth’s life, a part of a balance between academics and athletics. The After High School Program is a program that teaches grade 11 and 12 students the possibilities that are available after graduation and as well the realities of living away from home for the first time. (ie. Expenses, tuition fees, employment, relationships)

What would be your “dream job” in life?

My dream job in life is to be a leading entrepreneur. I dream of creating a company that builds on the foundation that it is built from those that are a part of it. I have been working on a business model for sometime and with the right tools in place hope to make this dream a reality some day in the future. The long term dream of creating a company is that one will be a part of a community and be a sponsor to help others out with their dreams. “I never did a days work in my life. It was all fun.” –Thomas A. Edison

Name one personal accomplishment (in addition to being a Miss Universe Canada contestant) that makes you especially proud.

There are so many angles one could answer this question, but the one personal accomplishment that makes me proud is one that most friends and family would wonder why…but it is my first Road Race on my bike where I almost finished dead last, but I finished!! *you should have seen the hill that the women had to cycle 14 times and you’d know why I say this* and I knew after that race that I had a love for the bike and a challenge ahead of me.

What is the most important thing you want people to know about you?

I am a person that believes in balance and who never closes any doors or windows, but one who opens them for herself and others. Believe: “The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.”

What is your favorite movie, song, sport, and food?

Movie: Robinhood Prince of Thieves

Song: It’s Still Rock & Roll to Me, Artist: Billy Joel

Sport: Too many to list…Cycling, Running, Rowing, Weights

Food: LOVE banana chips

What would you like to accomplish if you win the Miss Universe Canada title?

Winning the title of Miss Canada Universe would be an honour that cannot fully be described. I believe it to be an incredible opportunity to be a role model and a representative from a country I am proud to be a citizen of.

A motto that has served you as inspiration.

“Excellence can be attained if you Care more than others think is wise, Risk more than others think is safe, Dream more than others think is practical, and Expect more than others think is possible.” -Anonymous
