What is the craziest thing you have ever
done?
When I was younger, I ordered at a fast food drive-thru
as my friend pushed me in a shopping cart!
What charity/charities have you supported
with your time and/or resources over past two years?
I am a volunteer for the Canadian Diabetes Association
for which I serve as an educational speaker, spreading
awareness and providing information to the public
about diabetes. This is a cause that is close to my
heart as my grandmother passed away due to complications
of this disease.
I have also volunteered and contributed to the Calgary
Seniors’ Resource Society, Canadian Cancer Society,
and Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta.
What would be your "dream job"
in life?
My dream job would be to host a national television
show focusing on the wonders of science. Science affects
us everyday in fascinating and exciting ways. I would
illustrate this via an interactive and straightforward
program that would be easily comprehensible and appealing
to all viewers and not just the scientific community.
Name one personal accomplishment (in addition
to being a Miss Universe Canada contestant) that makes
you especially proud.
I am especially proud to have received the silver
medal award from the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto)
for achieving the highest grade in a singing examination
in all of Western Canada.
What is the most important thing you want
people to know about you?
My family is central to my life and I am thankful
to my parents for their role in guiding me towards
the morals, values, and principals I hold today.
What are your favorite movie, song, sport,
and food?
Movie: Of Mice and Men, starring Gary Sinise and
John Malkovich.
Song: Plaisir D’Amour by Martini & Florian
Sport: Soccer
Food: Sweet Potatoes
What would you like to accomplish if you
win the Miss Universe Canada title?
As Miss Universe Canada, I would embrace the opportunity
to speak publicly about issues that affect Canadian
women today. Such issues include domestic violence,
homelessness (which is increasingly affecting single
mothers), sexual harassment and abuse, drug and alcohol
addiction, breast cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis,
eating disorders, and diabetes.
I would demonstrate a positive, inspiring, and wholesome
depiction of Miss Universe Canada to the Canadian
public, especially young women. Additionally, I would
represent Canada and its dynamic and multicultural
people, with intelligence and grace on the international
stage.
A motto that has served you as inspiration.
There are two mottos that I subscribe to: “Everything
happens for a reason” and “The only failure
is not to try”.
