What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

I am very active in my local church community, where I hold several leadership positions. As a youth leader, I am very committed to my teams. At this particular time, we were raising money for World Missions at a youth wake-a-thon.

The theme for the night was Survivor. One of the competitions involved eating various rare delicacies. Being the brave and courageous leader that I was, I volunteered to be our participant in the competition. I was flabbergasted to come to know my assignment would be the digestion of a goldfish. I was disgusted, however, I could not let my team down.

I dropped the goldfish in my mouth, chewed quickly, and endured to the end. It was by far one of the craziest things I have ever done, but it was worth the admiration and respect of a hopeful group of adolescents.

What would be your "dream job" in life?

My dream job in life is to be a person of influence. If I could be anything I would love to be a motivational performer and speaker. I love to communicate through music, and I often compose my own pieces. I enjoy uplifting music, and through music I communicate messages of hope, truth, and encouragement. One of my favourite compositions is called the “Real Me”, and it relates to us all, because we all have difficulties and struggles in life, but when we know ourselves, and allow others to see who we really are, life is much easier to handle.

We have pressures, but it's so important to remain strong, and continue to believe in ourselves, because we will be better people for it. I have been involved heavily with public speaking, and would thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to motivate children to become stronger and better people, and in turn, make this world a better place."

Name one personal accomplishment (in addition to being a Miss Universe Canada contestant) that makes you especially proud.

There are many things in my life I account as worthy accomplishments, and moments that I take pride in. However, there is always a moment that captivates it all, that honours you for everything you have achieved and worked hard to attain. In September 2004, I was crowned Miss Newfoundland and Labrador, and I count it an absolute privilege to be representing my beautiful province. I have worked diligently to credit myself as an influential and respectable woman, and I intend to work just as diligently to establish my title with influence and respect, and make a difference in someone's life.

What is the most important thing you want people to know about you?

I am a passionate person, who is full of life, and enjoys making each and every moment count. I avail of every opportunity that I consider beneficial in allowing me to continue to grow in a positive fashion. I am driven by my values and beliefs, and I know my commitment and determination can make a difference to a world that seeks the difference.

FAVOURITE MOVIE: The Notebook.
FAVOURITE SONG: True (Ryan Cabrera) and You Raise Me Up (Josh Groban).
FAVOURITE SPORT: Volleyball
FAVOURITE FOOD: Stuffed chicken breast and vegetables

What would you like to accomplish if you win the Miss Universe Canada title?

As Miss Universe Canada, it would be my desire to continue to establish this title and position with dignity, respect, grace, and honour. I would count it a privilege to represent my nation, and be an ambassador for the people of Canada. I would be committed to working diligently to be at my best, both physically and mentally, for the Miss Universe competition in June, and would be thrilled to be able to bring the Miss Universe title back to Canada. It is also very important to continue the ongoing work with The Abilities Centre, and continue to support that charity in the previously established events, as well as encouraging and promoting new ones.

If I were to become Miss Universe Canada, I would take very opportunity to speak to students on the topic “A Pursuit To Success; Becoming the Person You Were Made to Be”. I love children, and would also love to work extensively in various children's hospitals, orphanages, charities, and schools. The importance of having a strong sense of self is a determining factor in the future success we will obtain. I would delight in speaking with women, who have emotional problems, and low self-esteem, and encourage them to pursue their dreams, and be inspired by the beauty that they hold within.

As Miss Universe Canada, it is my desire to serve my country in a role that holds prestige, privilege, and opportunity, and ensure that this title would become a legacy associated with respect and honour.

A motto that has served you as inspiration.

“If you believe it, you will achieve it.”

As a child, I penned this phrase, and it has served as inspiration and motivation throughout my life. Believing in yourself is the most important factor when one desires to attain success. All things become possible, because the skies are limitless, and the opportunities are endless. If we are able to see our capabilities, we are able to prove them, and in the process discover new and exciting talents, gifts, and abilities. We are able to prove to ourselves and the world, that what we once thought unreachable can be reached..
